This Week's Theme: Architecture

This week's theme is "Architecture":

This photo was taken in Lower Manhattan, during the 2004 MS Walk. I'm not sure which building it is, but it's one of the older buildings found in New York City.

I love the older architecture. I also live in an older city but I am in the South so all of the older building were razed by that little ole' thing called the Civil War :)

That building is beautiful. And I love the patina on the roof.

I wish I had an architecture vocabulary so that I could comment intelligently. All I can say is that buildings such as the one you shot are some of my favorites. They are dark and foreboding and seem full of wonderful stories. I love the statues/gargoyles/designs on the outside!

I love the detail and intricacy of old buildings.

I was amazed to see so many of the downtown buildings with touches of the old style and ornate embellishments. These mixed right in with the tall sleek modern all glass things.

so many of the statues were reading. . . made me wonder if it was a library. Beautiful building.
