Strange Stuff on Amazon

We all know that Amazon.com sells books, DVDs, electronics and other useful items. But, what you might not know is that it also hosts a treasure trove of truly strange and bizarre items like the ones below.

Like a Magic 8-Ball, with a holy twist.

(Pope-mobile not included.)

This Week's Theme: Antique

This week's theme is "Antique", and from my collection of thrift shop horrors, I present to you...

Chairs from Hell

The picture really doesn't do the horror of these justice. What's not clearly visible is the color. Imagine if you will, olive green chairs with crushed goldenrod velvet cushions. They're from another dimension. A dimension of console TVs and bad upholstery. There's the signpost up ahead. You've just crossed into "The Retro Zone".

A Rare Religious Artifact

LOOK! It's Icantciu, the ancient god of eyeless people!
At some point in time, someone actually bought this for their home. It boggles the mind.

Now, if you want to see some real antiques, click the link to the entry below:

Bizarre Religious Artifact

From my local Family Dollar store...

This is just so wrong, on so many levels.

I don't know which is worse, the thought of Crucifixion Color-by-Number, Help Jonah Get Out of the Whale mazes, David and Goliath Dot-to-Dots or the fact that Moses is in the same bin as H.R. Pufnstuf

Bizarre Religious Artifact #4

The "Jesus Reads the Bible" Giant Floor Puzzle.

This is just so wrong on so many levels! Aside from the obvious question of why would anyone want a Giant Floor Puzzle in the first place, let alone a "Jesus Reads the Bible" one, did they even have Bibles in Jesus' time? Posted by Picasa

Bizarre Religious Artifact #3

The "Heroes of Faith" action figures! (Click the pic for a larger view). Collect 'em all! (More of these later, so stay tuned!)

Now you, too, can feed Daniel to the Lions!

Or, if the thought of committing acts of violence upon Biblical action figures makes you queasy, you can read the enclosed Scripture Scroll instead! Posted by Picasa

Bizarre Religious Artifact #2

Yes, this is a statue of the lame man, found in a local thrift shop.

Why anyone would want to purchase this one is beyond me. It's not like he's an action figure. There's no button to push, or string to pull, which will suddenly cause him to throw down his crutches and yell "Hallelujah! I can WALK!" or anything like that. Nope, he just stands there on his one good leg in your livingroom.

Kind of lame, don't ya think? Posted by Picasa

Bizarre Religious Artifact #1

The "Baby Jesus Board Book"- yours for only ONE DOLLAR!

Is it my imagination, or does the Holy Family bear a strange resemblance to Holly Hobbie? Posted by Picasa
