Today's Theme: Broken

This week's theme is "Broken", and in honor of Valentine's Day, I present to you...

"A Wedding in Sleepy Hollow: The Headless Horseman Takes a Wife"

Posted by Picasa

Could their relationship be destined for a series of broken promises and broken vows? Will they break up? Will their children become products of a broken home? Will their children have heads, or follow in their parents' broken footsteps, doomed to life on a dollar store shelf?

Gnarly, Dude!!!

(click on the picture to enlarge)

A collection of surfin' dolphins from our friends at Family Dollar! Bet you didn't know dolphins knew how to ride a wave and hang-ten, now, did ya? I'm not quite sure how the snow globe roses fit in with the surfing theme, though.

My personal favorite is the one on the left, wearing the bright yellow t-shirt and the totally awesome shades!

Bizarre Religious Artifact

From my local Family Dollar store...

This is just so wrong, on so many levels.

I don't know which is worse, the thought of Crucifixion Color-by-Number, Help Jonah Get Out of the Whale mazes, David and Goliath Dot-to-Dots or the fact that Moses is in the same bin as H.R. Pufnstuf

A New Home for my Holiday Project

I've decided to give my holiday countdown project a home of its own. My collection of bizarre, tasteless, tacky and/or just plain horrific decor photos can now be seen here:

Lost in Translation

Taking a trip in the near future? Tired of plain old, boring travel kits? You might want to pick up an "Empty bottle of journey" instead:

Decorate Your Bathroom - The Dollar Store Way!

First, select your toilet seat cover:

Tired of sitting down to do your business, only to find yourself seated in a wet spot? This terry-cloth seat cover is not only cheap, and available in an assortment of attractive colors to match most bathrooms (if they happen to be pink and/or purple), it's highly absorbent, too!

If your bathroom isn't pink or purple, there's this hideous cushioned toilet seat in a shade that will hide most unsightly toilet issues.

And, to point the way to your restroom, you might want to invest in one of these "Toilet" signs. Why on Earth would anyone want a wall plaque featuring an old geezer taking a crap?

There's actually a whole series of these, each featuring an old person in a different "potty pose". Collect 'em all!

Horrendous Holiday Décor #2

Click the picture to view full-size

It's the Dolphin Family Christmas!

I love dolphins, but the thought of a house full of dolphins in Santa hats makes me cringe. What's with the baby dolphins on the candle holder? Didn't their parents teach them never to play with fire?

And since when do dolphins have Christmas trees???

The Great Tiki Drag Queen God. You want this. You know you do.

It's Sweet Love Floral Bouquet disposable douche. For when you want that "just fucked a flower" feeling.

My personal favorite, though, has to be:

Some of this stuff is just too weird.

Don't ask me what this is. I haven't a clue.

Spring is in the Air and on Sale!!!

"Was it good for you, too?"

Is it just me, or do these frogs look like they've just completed some wild act of lily pad lust?

They say that "April showers bring May flowers", but somehow, I don't think these are quite what they had in mind.

Spring is also a great time for the CSI fans among you to stock up on your Christmas decorations.

The "multi-function" Lucky Pot!

Posted by Picasa
Combines avant gerde styling with conceptual design. It also creates a "hypnotic ambience through a combination of semi-translucent colours and complimenting chrome stand. Because you want a multi-function, avant gerde teapot that flatters you every morning.

A "poppy opener". Not sure if this is for opening beer and soda bottles, or a tool used in the manufacturing of heroin. But, if you've got a poppy to open, this is the tool for you. At only $1.29, it's a bargain!

The dollar store has something for everyone. Always popular with the S&M crowd is the Joy Free Hook.

Posted by Picasa Even with instructions as clear as these, I still can't figure out the reason for this thing!

Last, but by no means least, is the Benign Girl Super Telephone. Bizarre Girl is more like it. While the package entices the buyer to "Try Me! Press Button", they neglect to mention two things: a) there are no batteries in the phone, and b) there is no button.
